Transforming Stormwater: Opti's Upgrades for Smarter, Simpler Management
Continuous improvement, made possible by incorporating feedback, is core to how Opti CMAC transforms stormwater facilities and collection systems, and how we prioritize changes we make to improve it. In the last six months, we have:
- Integrated the Opti Platform with NOAA’s public water level and tide predictions data feeds to provide coastal communities with a no-hardware option for managing upstream releases into tidally-influenced collection systems.
- Improved how we communicate Failsafe status in the Opti Portal by making all possible Operation Modes visible to minimize confusion during outages.
- Supported facility-level elevation datums to make it easier to compare Opti dashboards to designs.
- Added the specific dashboard title to the browser tab so that it is easy to flip between many facilities at once.
- Rolled out a new centralized documentation portal at https://docs.optirtc.com that includes a site-wide search feature. Our Customer Success team is excited to bring more resources to help with field operations there in 2025.
In short, Opti’s product team has been focused on eliminating the friction we see customers experience as they expand their use of CMAC from a few facilities to a smart watershed, and we are not done yet! In 2025, our browser, cloud, and panel applications will receive upgrades that will make the entire lifecycle of applying Opti CMAC easier and more resilient for our customers and partners. A core theme of these improvements is “removing the black box” from the experience of owning an Opti CMAC facility. We are working on this in three ways:
- First, the Opti Portal is gaining the ability to show and manage facility configurations. Whether that configuration is based on in-field observations from an inspection or a design document from an engineer, the Opti Portal will make it easy to know who, what, when, and why those changes were made so that future operators and planners can understand the basis for those choices.
- Second, the panel and cloud are being upgraded to minimize power and network outages and recover data collected during those incidents so that there are no gaps in the data when it comes time to report on the impact of CMAC installations.
- Last, built-in performance reports will show the bigger picture of how well CMAC equipment and stormwater facilities are responding to the weather they experience over the long term.
With these upgrades, we’re making it easier than ever for our customers to understand, manage, and trust their Opti CMAC systems, helping them get the most out of their stormwater solutions now and into the future.
We’re committed to continuous improvement and want to hear from you! Share your feedback to help us make the Opti solution even better. Together, we can create smarter, more resilient solutions—thank you for being part of the journey!
