The Journey to a Smart Watershed:
Opti, Reimagined
Every time you get behind the wheel, a network of sensors constantly tracks your car's vitals, from tire pressure to fuel levels - everything you need to feel safe and secure. Your dashboard serves as your central command, unifying these details onto a single screen and giving you total visibility into exactly how your vehicle is performing.
Shouldn't the stormwater infrastructure that protects our communities from devastating floods and ensures clean water be held to the same standard?
At Opti, the answer is an emphatic YES!
Today's challenges require modern, intelligent infrastructure, which is why we are launching new product offerings that span the entire smart watershed journey. Whether you need a single embedded hardware connection or a comprehensive way to manage community stormwater assets, Opti is built to meet you where you are - simplifying your transition to a smarter, safer future.

Opti Launches Smart Watershed Asset Management Platform
Through exclusive pilot programs, Opti is launching our smart watershed asset management platform. Like a car dashboard, it aggregates scattered data - including GIS layers, design specifications, H&H models, maintenance work orders, 311 reports, and financial ledgers - into a single source of truth. Asset owners can finally manage with evidence rather than assumptions, unlocking predictive maintenance, automated compliance reporting, and optimized spending.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming months!

CMAC for SMED Credits in Redmond, WA
To protect the Monticello Creek watershed, the City of Redmond, WA retrofitted its Wynstone and Cogan Allen stormwater ponds using Opti's Continuous Monitoring and Adaptive Control (CMAC) technology, which has a WA TAPE functional equivalency approval. At a savings of over $800,000 per site, this approach was not only cost-effective, but also modernized aging infrastructure and reduced peak flow rates discharged to receiving streams. By treating over 15 acres, the project successfully generated 1.96 Stormwater Management for Existing Development (SMED) equivalent acres toward state regulatory compliance.

Opti's Newest CMAC Project: Ford P-4 Pond
Opti has successfully commissioned the Ford P-4 pond, its second deployment on the Dearborn campus, capping off one of our smoothest projects yet from design through completion! With Opti's CMAC system in place, Ford has a proven, repeatable pathway to actively manage stormwater runoff across the campus. This true team effort wouldn't be possible without our incredible partners. A huge thank you to Wade Trim and Center Line Electric for their professionalism, collaborative spirit, and exceptional site craftsmanship!

Kansas City's Smart Retrofits Deliver Big Savings
A recent Great Plains Stormwater Center of Excellence webinar highlighted two innovative Kansas City projects by Burns & McDonnell. A savings of over $20 million was achieved when engineers utilized data-driven, adaptive technology to control Westport's 3.5 million gallons of smart underground storage, rather than building a traditional box culvert. These installations maximize performance for a fraction of the cost while successfully reducing peak flow rates discharged to receiving streams.
